Description

This procurement is for the operation and maintenance of three (3) Waste Disposal Sites (WDSs) in the Thunder Bay – Ignace District for a 5 year term beginning June 1, 2023. These sites are Conacher, Hardwick and Marks all located west of Thunder Bay. The Certificate of Approvals for the sites are issued by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF).

The Ministry is looking for a Vendor to operate and maintain the sites in compliance with the standards and guidelines set out by MECP and MNRF. This will include but not limited to accepting tipping fees from users, directing users on where to dump their domestic waste, reporting any non-compliances to the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry representative, compacting waste in trenches, and capping with appropriate material and constructing new trenches.
Scope of Work
Without limiting the generality of the definition of “Waste Disposal Services” under the referenced Request for Bid (RFB), operation and maintenance of the waste disposal site are required in accordance with the applicable regulations and guidelines referenced in the RFB for Third Party Operator Agreements for Three MNRF Waste Disposal Sites .
